4" Cap with Pin Valve for 8g CO2 Cartridge for King Keg Barrel

4 inch cap for King Keg pressure barrel, fitted with valve for 8 gram CO2 bulb cartridges. The valve is equipped with a piercing pin for piercing the cartridge. 

Must be used with a bulb holder to hold the cartridge in place when screwing it down for the pin to pierce the cartridge and release the gas into the barrel.

The valve has an over pressure relief valve to release excess pressure.

If you have bought a keg with a vent cap, then it lets air into your barrel as you take beer out the tap.  This can let in bacteria with the air that can turn your beer, cider or lager into vinegar. 

To prevent this from happening, this cap with pressure valve, will cause the keg barrel to hold co2 pressure from the secondary fermentation.  If this pressure becomes too low as you are pulling off your pints, then you can inject some more CO2.  This keeps the the pressure up, aiding an speed of pouring and a good head formation, as well as keeping the beer safe from bacterial infection.

This valve is fitted with a cartridge piercing pin, so can only be used with 8 gram CO2 cartridges. 

You will also need a cartridge holder (not included) to hold the CO2 cartridge in place as the holder screws onto the valve and pushes the cartridge into the valve and onto the piercing pin.
